Michael Preston Visits Re-Ed!

Re-Education Services had the privilege to host the Tennessee Titan’s wide receiver, Michael Preston, on Friday. Michael grew up locally, in Euclid, and later went on to play football for the Student Princes of Heidelberg University, where he continues to hold school receiving yards and touchdown records in a single season. Following his college career, Mike went on to play with the Utah Blaze in the arena league prior to joining the Tennessee Titans.

Mike arrived at school on Friday with his mother, Kim. It was awesome to see his mom come to the school with him and he mentioned her on different occasions throughout his PowerPoint to the students. Mike shared “Mike P’s Three P’s” on reaching goals (Passion, Patience and Persistence) and shared how each of those helped him reach his NFL goal along with connecting students to how they can reach their goals. Mike spoke about how his lack of height, 5’11” in high school, gave him a slow start because he didn’t see the field until his senior season. However, he had PASSION for the game. He spoke about how his PERSISTENCE, despite only having 12 catches his senior year of high school led him to a small division III school in Tiffin, Ohio to play for Heidelberg University. He also spoke about his PATIENCE, throughout the NFL lockout that was occurring while he was trying to get in, throughout his Arena time with the Utah Blaze and his time on the practice roster for the Tennessee Titans.

Mike engaged throughout his presentation as he asked them to share their dreams, goals and ambitions while encouraging them to continue to strive for their goals no matter what challenges or bumps in the road they may come across.  Mike took time to walk through the halls and talk to students, take pictures, shoot hoops and hand out autographed pictures for all of the students.

Re-Education’s students and staff are very appreciative of Mike’s enthusiasm and time spent with everyone that he encountered throughout his visit.

Best of luck Mike, as you continue to reach your goals and act as a positive role model for all the lives that you may come across in your journey through the NFL. You have a huge fan base at Re-Education Services.

Kids Love Musicals Project

Re-Education Services collaborated with The Musical Theater Production, specifically with “Kids Love Musicals” (KLM) out of Cleveland in the Spring to adapt and modify “The Wizard of Oz” for students with disabilities.   KLM introduces musical productions to students K-3rd grade in school districts across the Northeast Ohio region.  Because of this collaboration, KLM will now be able to include all K-3rd grade students.  Take a look at the video link below to see our kids practicing and performing!

Also, here’s an article from The Musical Theater Project’s monthly publication for you to enjoy.  A special Thank You goes out to Chris Lorenz for organizing this wonderful event.
